Hello Fellow, Corporate Leaders!
As President & COO of Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania and Maryland, I am honored to share with you Columbia Gas’ commitment to lead our corporate neighbors as the 2024-2025 Campaign Chair Organization of the United Way of Washington County (UWWC). I, along with my fellow employees, are especially honored to serve in this role given 2025 will be a milestone year when the UWWC will be celebrating 100 years of serving our folks in need in Washington County.
Columbia Gas is proud of its partnership with the UWWC to support our community by conducting an annual Workplace Giving Campaign. Our organization understands that as a community, we are all in it together. Only with the support of our Washington County corporate neighbors would funding exist for a variety of local essential programs.
Perhaps you are familiar with the fact that today thirty-one local human service programs addressing a variety of essential needs are funded through the UWWC Community Impact Fund. Some of the ways that these programs impact our community are by:
- helping community members in need, including funding for local shelters for families who have found themselves homeless,
- learning new job skills or obtaining the required work attire for eager individuals reentering the workforce,
- connecting folks who are employed with available resources to manage their income to build a financial solid foundation,
- providing after school homework help as well as supplying nutritional snacks for children to encourage healthy eating, and
- sharing with teens about safe dating and dealing with cyber-bullying,
- providing valuable resources, including service dogs, for local veterans to adapt to life after serving our country.
The UWWC has continuously served our community throughout its soon to be 100-year milestone with its vital presence. It is a role that it graciously embraces as it is guided by its mission: to unite people, resources, and organizations to improve lives in Washington County.
In recognition of its 100th year of serving the Washington County community, please consider joining your fellow local corporate organizations, like Columbia Gas, to become a United Way Workplace Giving Campaign Partner or explore other ways to lend your support by donating or sponsoring, by becoming an Impact Circle Member or stepping up in another actionable capacity. We cannot do it alone. With collective corporate support, a strong Washington County community will benefit all for now and for the next 100 years.
I invite your organization to learn more about joining the efforts to make a difference in our community. Please take a minute to visit its website at www.unitedwaywashco.org and then, please consider welcoming P. Ann Hrabik, UWWC Executive Director, to share on how your organization can get involved today.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Mark Kempic
