Training & Supportive Services Program
Approximately 3,300 people living in Washington County experience some sort of visual disability. VSOWG (formerly known as the Washington County Blind Association) is the only dedicated provider of services to persons with blindness and visual impairments. Persons with visual impairments often have difficulty locating or getting to and from vision screenings and specialized eye care. Many experience problems coordinating services related to their visual impairments or need door-to-door transportation to medical facilities, banks, stores and other community resources. Adults and children may need instruction in activities of daily living to help them understand and compensate for or adjust to their visual loss. The Training & Supportive Services Program hopes to aid more people with visual impairments through the TSS program so that they can live with their impairments in the community.
